Lugal-zage-si

Lugal-zage-si was a Sumerian king of Umma and Uruk who brought much of Sumer under his rule in the twenty-fourth century BCE. He was defeated and captured by Sargon of Akkad. His defeat made Sargon master of southern Mesopotamia and was a key step in founding the Akkadian Empire.
