Lugii

Also known as Lygii

The Lugii were a large group of peoples in the region of modern southern Poland, between the Oder and the Vistula, known from Strabo, Tacitus and Ptolemy in the 1st and 2nd centuries CE. They were subject for a time to Maroboduus of the Marcomanni and in 50 CE helped overthrow Vannius of the Quadi. Archaeologists often link them with the Przeworsk culture.
