Strabo

c. 64 BCE – c. 24 CE · 1st century BCE

Strabo was a Greek geographer and historian from Amaseia in Pontus, active under Augustus and Tiberius. His Geography, in seventeen books, describes the peoples, cities and lands of the Roman world from Iberia to India. It is a principal source for many ancient peoples, towns and leagues that are otherwise poorly recorded.
