Lycians

The Lycians were the people of Lycia in south-western Anatolia, speaking an Indo-European Anatolian language written in their own alphabet. Probably descended from the Bronze Age Lukka, they were known for their rock-cut tombs and their federation of cities, the Lycian League. They were ruled in turn by Persia, Alexander and his successors, Rhodes and Rome.
