Mạc Kính Cung

d. 1625 · 17th century · Also known as Mac Kinh Cung

Mạc Kính Cung was a member of the Mạc dynasty who proclaimed himself emperor in 1593, after the Trịnh lords retook Thăng Long and executed Mạc Mậu Hợp. He led the Mạc remnant in the mountains of Cao Bằng near the Chinese border, where Ming pressure on the restored Lê court let the Mạc keep a small upland realm. He was captured and killed by Trịnh forces in 1625.
