Mahishmati
Mahishmati was an ancient city on the Narmada river in central India, the southern capital of the kingdom of Avanti and later the seat of the Kalachuris of Mahishmati. It appears in the Sanskrit epics and Puranas and is usually identified with Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh, though Mandhata and other sites have also been proposed.
