Person
Mahmud Yalavach
Mahmud Yalavach was a Khwarazmian Muslim administrator in the service of the Mongol Empire. Appointed by the Great Khan, he governed the sedentary cities of Transoxiana during Chagatai's lifetime. His role shows how the early Chagatai realm remained subordinate to the Great Khan and relied on Muslim administrators.
