Mongol Empire

Also known as Mongol

The Mongol Empire was founded by Genghis Khan in 1206 and became the largest contiguous land empire in history, stretching from Korea to eastern Europe. Its conquests destroyed states such as the Khwarazmian Empire and the Abbasid Caliphate. In the later thirteenth century it divided into successor khanates, including the Yuan Dynasty, the Ilkhanate and the Chagatai Empire.
