Khwarazmian Empire
The Khwarazmian Empire was a Persianate Muslim state ruled by the Khwarazm Shahs, which grew from the Khwarazm region into a major power in Central Asia and Iran around 1200. It displaced the Seljuks in much of the east. After the execution of envoys and merchants sent by Genghis Khan, the Mongol Empire invaded from 1219 and destroyed the empire in a devastating campaign.
