Khwarazmians
The Khwarazmians were the people and ruling dynasty of Khwarazm, whose shahs built the Khwarazmian Empire. They rose at the expense of the declining Seljuk Empire in the twelfth century. Their conflict with Genghis Khan triggered the Mongol invasion of Central Asia, after which much of their territory passed to the Mongol Empire and later to the Chagatai Empire.
