Maimonides

Maimonides was a Jewish philosopher, legal scholar and physician born in Cordoba in the twelfth century. His family left al-Andalus after the Almohad conquest imposed pressure on Jews and Christians, and he eventually settled in Egypt. His works, including the Guide for the Perplexed, made him one of the most influential thinkers of medieval Judaism.
