Malolos Constitution
The Malolos Constitution was the constitution of the First Philippine Republic, drafted by a revolutionary congress at Barasoain church in Malolos, Bulacan, from September 1898 and promulgated in January 1899. Drawing on Spanish and Latin American models, it created a republic with a strong legislature. It was the first republican constitution in Asia, though the Philippine–American War soon ended the republic.
