Mandonius

d. 205 BCE · 3rd century BCE

Mandonius was a chief of the Ilergetes, an Iberian people of north-eastern Spain, who led them with his brother Indibilis during the Second Punic War. The brothers first served Carthage and then joined Scipio Africanus in 209 BCE. They later rose against Roman rule, and after their defeat in 205 BCE, in which Indibilis fell, Mandonius was handed over to the Romans by his own people and executed.
