Mandore

Also known as Mandavyapura

Mandore, anciently Mandavyapura, is a historic town a few kilometres north of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India. It was the seat of the Pratiharas of Mandavyapura from about the 6th century and was taken by the Rathores around 1400 as their capital, until Rao Jodha founded Jodhpur in 1459. Its gardens hold the cenotaphs of the Rathore rulers.
