Jalore
Jalore, or Jalor, is a town in south-western Rajasthan, India, below a granite hill crowned by one of the strongest forts of medieval Rajputana. Taken from the Paramaras around 1160 by the Chahamana Kirtipala, it was the capital of the Songara Chauhans until Alauddin Khalji captured it in 1311. It later belonged to Afghan chiefs and to the Rathores of Marwar.
