Jaluit Atoll
Jaluit is a coral atoll in the Ralik chain of the Marshall Islands in the central Pacific. German traders based their copra business there, and from 1885 it was the administrative centre of the German Marshall Islands protectorate. Under Japanese rule after 1914 it remained the main administrative seat and became a military base in the Second World War.
