Rajputana
Rajputana was the historical name of the region of north-western India roughly corresponding to present-day Rajasthan, so called by the British after its Rajput ruling dynasties. Under British rule it consisted of some two dozen princely states, including Mewar, Marwar, Jaipur and Bikaner, supervised by the Rajputana Agency, together with the small province of Ajmer-Merwara.
