Mohammad Ali Khan Zand
Mohammad Ali Khan Zand was a son of Karim Khan Zand, the founder of the Zand state in Iran. After his father's death in 1779 his uncle Zaki Khan proclaimed him and his brother Abu al-Fath Khan joint rulers while holding real power himself. The young princes were soon pushed aside, and the succession disputes among the Zand family opened fifteen years of civil war.
