Möngke Temür (son of Hulagu)

1256–1282 · 13th century

Möngke Temür was a Mongol prince of the Ilkhanate, a son of Hulagu Khan. He married Abish Khatun, the last Salghurid ruler of Fars, which brought the province under closer Ilkhanid control. In 1281 he commanded the Ilkhanid army against the Mamluks at the Second Battle of Homs, where his flight contributed to the defeat, and he died the following year.
