Montego Bay
Montego Bay is a city on the north-west coast of Jamaica and the capital of the parish of St James. A centre of the sugar trade in the colonial period, it was at the heart of the 1831–1832 Christmas Rebellion of enslaved people led by Samuel Sharpe. In 1947 it hosted the conference on closer association of the British Caribbean colonies that led to the West Indies Federation. It is now Jamaica's main tourist centre.
