Mostar
Mostar is the largest city of Herzegovina, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the Neretva river. It grew under Ottoman rule around a bridge crossing, and its Old Bridge (Stari Most), completed in 1566, became the symbol of the city. The bridge was destroyed in 1993 during the Bosnian War and rebuilt in 2004, and the old town was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
