Motronynskyi Monastery
The Motronynskyi Holy Trinity Monastery is an Orthodox monastery in the Kholodny Yar forest near Chyhyryn in Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. Its abbot Melkhisedek Znachko-Yavorsky supported the haidamaks of the Koliivshchyna rising of 1768, who according to tradition consecrated their knives there. In 1919 it became the centre of the Kholodny Yar insurgency against Soviet rule.
