Much Wenlock
Much Wenlock is a market town in Shropshire, England, which grew around a monastery founded about 680 with Mildburh as its abbess. Refounded as a Cluniac priory in the late 11th century, Wenlock Priory became one of the richest religious houses in the region. The Wenlock Olympian Games, founded there in 1850, helped inspire the modern Olympic Games.
