Mula, Murcia

Mula is a town in the Region of Murcia in south-eastern Spain, lying on the Mula river west of the city of Murcia. It is named among the seven towns that Theodemir kept under his rule in the treaty he made with the Muslim conquerors in 713. The town passed to Castile in the 13th century, and it is overlooked by the 16th-century castle of the marquises of Los Vélez.
