Nabu-apla-iddina

r. c. 888–855 BCE · 9th century BCE

Nabu-apla-iddina was king of Babylon from about 888 to 855 BCE, one of the longest reigns of the period. He restored temples damaged in earlier Aramean and Sutean raids, notably renewing the cult image of the sun god Shamash at Sippar, an event recorded on the Sun-god Tablet. He kept peaceful relations with Assyria through a treaty with Shalmaneser III.
