Nagriamel
Nagriamel is a political and customary movement founded on Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides in the mid-1960s by Jimmy Stevens and Chief Paul Buluk. It demanded the return of uncultivated land claimed by European planters and defended customary ways of life. Backed by some French settlers and American business interests, it opposed the Vanua'aku Pati and led the failed secession of Espiritu Santo in 1980.
