Nakijin Castle

Also known as Nakijin Gusuku

Nakijin Castle is a gusuku, or Okinawan fortress, on the Motobu Peninsula of Okinawa, Japan. It was the seat of the kings of Hokuzan until Shō Hashi of Chūzan captured it in 1416, and it later served as the residence of a royal warden for the north. Its long, winding limestone walls survive, and it is part of a World Heritage Site inscribed in 2000.
