Nemanjić dynasty
The Nemanjić dynasty ruled Serbia from 1166 to 1371. Its founder, Stefan Nemanja, united Serbian lands, and his son Stefan the First-Crowned became king in 1217, while another son, Saint Sava, won the Serbian Church's autocephaly in 1219. Under Stefan Dušan, proclaimed emperor in 1346, Serbia dominated the Balkans. The line ended with Stefan Uroš V in 1371.
