Ningbo

Also known as Mingzhou

Ningbo, known in the Song period as Mingzhou, is a port city in Zhejiang province on China's east coast. Under the Song Dynasty it was one of the main ports, alongside Guangzhou and Quanzhou, for maritime trade. Customs revenues from these ports were significant to the Song economy, and the city was a key link with Korea and Japan.
