Ningirsu
Ningirsu was a Sumerian warrior god, the patron of the city of Girsu and of the state of Lagash, associated with thunderstorms, floods and the fertility of the fields. The rulers of Lagash presented themselves as his stewards, and his main temple, the Eninnu, was rebuilt by Gudea. He was later often identified with Ninurta, the god of Nippur.
