Niqmepa of Ugarit

14th–13th century BCE · 13th century BCE

Niqmepa was a king of Ugarit, the trading city on the Syrian coast, in the late 14th and 13th centuries BCE, and son of Niqmaddu II. He ruled for several decades as a vassal of the Hittite Empire, under treaties with Mursili II, and many legal and diplomatic tablets from the archives of Ugarit belong to his long reign.
