Nochixtlán Valley
The Nochixtlán Valley is a highland valley in the Mixteca Alta of Oaxaca, Mexico. Settled since early times, it was one of the most densely populated parts of the Mixtec world in the Postclassic period and home to kingdoms such as Yanhuitlan. Heavy erosion of its slopes, linked to centuries of farming and terracing, has made it a classic case in studies of human impact on the landscape.
