1910–1994 · 20th century

The Orange Free State Province was one of the four provinces of the Union of South Africa and later the Republic of South Africa, formed in 1910 from the Orange River Colony, with Bloemfontein as its capital. It kept the borders of the former Boer republic, and in 1994 it became the Free State province.
