Orthez
Orthez is a town on the Gave de Pau in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of south-western France. It became the capital of Béarn under the viscounts of the Moncade line in the 13th century, and Gaston Fébus held his court in its Moncade castle in the 14th. Its fortified medieval bridge survives, and Wellington defeated Soult nearby in 1814.
