Pakuan Pajajaran
Pakuan Pajajaran was the capital of the Sunda Kingdom in western Java, on the site of modern Bogor. Sri Baduga Maharaja ruled from it after uniting Sunda and Galuh in 1482 and strengthened it with a moat, as the Batutulis inscription records. The Portuguese visited the kingdom in the 1520s. The Banten Sultanate captured and destroyed the city in 1579, ending the kingdom.
