Palanan
Palanan is a remote municipality on the Pacific coast of Isabela province in north-eastern Luzon, Philippines, cut off from the interior by the Sierra Madre mountains. Emilio Aguinaldo, president of the First Philippine Republic, hid there during the Philippine–American War until he was captured on 23 March 1901 by an American force under Frederick Funston, which had entered disguised as prisoners of Macabebe scouts.
