Papora people
The Papora are an indigenous plains people of the coastal plain around present-day Taichung in west-central Taiwan. In the 17th century they belonged to the Middag alliance known from Dutch records, and after the Qing took Taiwan they lost much land to Chinese settlers. In the 19th century many migrated to the Puli basin in central Taiwan, and their language is extinct.
