Pazeh people

The Pazeh are an indigenous plains people of the Taichung basin in west-central Taiwan. Part of the 17th-century Middag alliance, they later lost much of their land to Chinese settlers, and many migrated to the Puli basin in the 19th century. Their Austronesian language had one fully fluent speaker, Pan Jin-yu, until her death in 2010.
