r. 1412–1467 · 15th century · Also known as Parakramabahu VI of Kotte

Parakramabahu VI was the last Sinhalese king to unify all of Sri Lanka. Rising to power at Gampola and ruling from Kotte from 1412, he sent his adopted son to conquer the Tamil kingdom of Jaffna and brought the hill country under control. His long reign was a high point of Sinhala literature, but the kingdom divided soon after his death in 1467.
