Passover
Passover is a major Jewish festival commemorating the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, celebrated in spring from the 15th day of the month of Nisan. In the Second Temple period it was a pilgrimage festival, when crowds came to Jerusalem to sacrifice the Passover lamb at the Temple. Since the Temple's destruction it has centred on the household meal, the Seder.
