1598 · 16th century · Also known as Treaty of Vervins · Part of the French Wars of Religion

The Peace of Vervins was signed on 2 May 1598 between Henry IV of France and Philip II of Spain, ending the war Spain had waged in support of the Catholic League. Together with the Edict of Nantes, issued the same spring, it ended the French Wars of Religion.
