Pedro II of Brazil

Also known as Pedro II

Pedro II was the second and last emperor of Brazil, succeeding his father Pedro I as a child in 1831 and ruling in his own right from 1840. His long reign was the most stable period of the Brazilian Empire, with competent fiscal management and victory in the Paraguayan War. He was deposed by a military coup in November 1889 and died in exile in Paris.
