Percheron

The Percheron is a breed of heavy draught horse from the Perche region of north-western France, usually grey or black. Developed from local horses, probably with some Arab blood, it became famous in the 19th century for pulling coaches, guns and farm machinery, and was exported in large numbers to the United States. It remains one of the best-known draught breeds.
