Perth Amboy
Perth Amboy is a port city in New Jersey at the mouth of the Raritan River on Raritan Bay. Scottish proprietors founded it in the 1680s as the capital of East Jersey, naming it after the Earl of Perth. After New Jersey was reunited as a royal colony in 1702, it shared the role of capital with Burlington until the American Revolution.
