Pittsburg, New Hampshire
Pittsburg is a town in Coös County in the far north of New Hampshire, the largest town in the state by area, bordering the Canadian province of Quebec. Its territory was claimed by both the United States and British Canada because the Treaty of Paris of 1783 left the boundary unclear, and from 1832 to 1835 its settlers ran the independent Republic of Indian Stream. It was incorporated as the town of Pittsburg in 1840.
