Plateau d'Albion

The Plateau d'Albion is a high limestone plateau in Provence, south-eastern France, between Mont Ventoux and the Montagne de Lure. Ancient sources place the Celto-Ligurian Albici in this area, and their name may survive in that of the plateau. From 1971 to 1996 it housed France's land-based nuclear ballistic missiles in underground silos.
