Protocol of Korçë
The Protocol of Korçë was an agreement signed on 10 December 1916 between the French military commander in the area and Albanian notables during the First World War. It created an autonomous Albanian province of Korçë under French protection, with its own administration, schools, flag and stamps. Opposed by Greece and Italy, the autonomy was ended by France in 1918, and French troops withdrew in 1920.
