Pshavi

Pshavi is a historic mountain region of north-eastern Georgia, in the valley of the Pshavi Aragvi river. Its people, the Pshavs, lived in clan communities with their own shrines and customs, and with the neighbouring highlanders of Tusheti and Khevsureti they supplied warriors to the kings of Kakheti. The poet Vazha-Pshavela took his pen name from the region.
