Ragnit
Ragnit, now the town of Neman in the Kaliningrad region of Russia, lies on the south bank of the Neman river. The Teutonic Order built a castle there in 1289 on the site of a Scalovian stronghold, and it became a base for campaigns against Lithuania. The brick castle, rebuilt in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, survives in ruins.
