Rajuvula

c. 1st century BCE – 1st century CE · 1st century BCE

Rajuvula was an Indo-Scythian ruler, styled great satrap, who governed Mathura in northern India around the turn of the 1st century BCE and the 1st century CE. He issued coins copying those of the Indo-Greek kings. The Mathura Lion Capital, an inscribed sculpture in Kharoshthi now in the British Museum, records gifts to the Buddhist community by his chief queen.
